INTEC Foundation Studies: RUSSIA

The Russian Programme has duration of 4 - 8 months. During this period, students are taught the Russian language by qualified and experienced Russian lecturers. Through INTEC's close rapport with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, students get to participate in Russian national celebrations, attend talks by visiting professors from Russian universities and embassy staff. Students are prepared in a comprehensive way to further their studies in Medicine at Russian universities which are approved by the Ministry of Education, Public Services Department and the Malaysian Medical Council.

To fulfill the general requirements, students applying for the programme must obtain
at least C in Bahasa Malaysia and at least B+ in English at SPM level.

Students must also obtain at least FOUR B+ and ONE B in the following subjects:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics

  • Students will be able to read and write in the Cyrillic Language after a period of two months.
  • Students will be able to listen to dialogues and use structures based on selected topics of conversation incorporating authentic language skills.
  • Students will be able to take down notes and later paragraphs from dictation pieces. Following this, they will then proceed to essay writing.
  • Upon completion of the course, students will be able to communicate and interact effectively in the Russian language.
  • Besides proficiency in the Russian language, students will also be able to use the English language for academic purposes.


  • Qualified and experienced instructors who are native speakers
  • Collaboration between INTEC and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture to participate in events organized by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture
  • Collaboration between INTEC and Russian Resources to place students in medical universities in Russia
  • Participation in Russian national celebrations organized by the Russian Embassy and organizations
  • Educational visits to hospitals, art galleries, museums and performances at the Philharmonic Orchestra Hall
  • Talks by visiting professors from Russian universities and embassy staff about the cultures and the education system of Russia
  • Talks by distinguished academicians from the medical profession
  • Sharing of experiences with seniors of the Russian Programme
  • Moscow Medical Academy
  • Volgograd State Medical University
  • Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy
